Annual Awards in Detroit Jan. 5

VIPs to Include U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow,
Michigan Attorney General Jennifer Granholm

DETROIT, Dec. 12 -- U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan and Michigan Attorney General Jennifer Granholm will be among the many VIPs attending ROAD & TRAVEL Magazine's Class of 2002 - Top 10 Most Likely to Succeed Automotive Awards. The 6th annual event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, the night before press week officially begins for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The entertaining and unique Grammy-style awards presentation will host about 700 industry and community leaders as well as members of the media. The awards honor ten automakers for new model entries for 2002 from a women's market perspective.

Other high-profile personalities who will be attending are Larry D. Yost, chairman & CEO, ArvinMeritor Inc.; J.D. Power III, chairman & CEO, J.D. Power and Associates; Irma Elder, CEO, Elder Automotive Group; Martin Inglis, Chief Financial Officer, Ford Motor Company; John Middlebrook, VP corporate advertising, General Motors; Kathleen Ligocki, VP global strategy, Ford Motor Company; Karen Francis, president/CEO, Consumer Connect, Ford Motor Company; Sue Callaway, VP and general manager, Jaguar North America; Denny Clements, group VP and general manager, Lexus; Mark McNabb, VP & general manager, Infiniti Division; Lynn Myers, general manager, Pontiac-GMC; Karl Brauer, editor-in-chief, Edmunds.com; Jeffrey K. Winners will be revealed the night of the event and announced Jan. 6.
