International Car of the Year Awards Moves to
All-New MGM Grand Detroit Hotel and Entertainment Center

For Immediate Release
Guests of the International Car of the Year (ICOTY) Awards, the black-tie gala that honors the top ten vehicles for 2008, will find themselves in a spectacular new venue on January 12, 2008, where ICOTY will celebrate its 12 th annual event.

The all-new MGM Grand Detroit, Michigan’s largest construction project currently underway will play host to the glitzy automotive affair. The property, which features a 14,000 square foot Grand Ballroom, will host 800 ICOTY guests as well as display the stars themselves, the ten winning vehicles as voted upon by the ICOTY jury.

“The move to the new MGM Grand Detroit is a major step forward in our mission to expand ICOTY into the most prestigious automotive awards show in the industry. We’re thrilled to be honoring ICOTY’s 2008 winning vehicles at the newest and most glamorous hotel and entertainment center Detroit has to offer,” says Courtney Caldwell, ICOTY Executive Producer.

In addition to the new state-of-the-art facility, the MGM Grand Detroit will feature signature dining options designed by world-renowned chefs, a multitude of lounges including both a relaxed piano bar and high-energy dance club, and the only full-service resort spa in southeast Michigan. ICOTY guests are urged to take advantage of the luxurious property by exploring the facilities after the show, or by booking one of the 400 brand new upscale guestrooms or suites for their stay in Detroit.

Another new addition is exhibit space for many of the ICOTY 2008 event sponsors adjacent to the Grand Ballroom during the reception, granting a unique opportunity for guests to learn about the latest automotive-related products and services.

“MGM Grand Detroit made a firm promise to the City of Detroit that we would create a world-class entertainment venue, built on an unprecedented scale, and truly worthy of this great city,” said MGM Grand Detroit President and COO George Boyer. “That promise is becoming a reality. This investment in Detroit represents MGM Grand’s commitment to the city and state, as well as our stake in the city’s future.”
