2003 Ford Cars Model Guide
by Bob Plunkett

2003 Hyundai Accent
2003 Hyundai Accent

Hyundai's subcompact sedan in the price-conscious economy club forges a surprisingly spacious passenger compartment.

A new platform appeared in 2000 with longer wheelbase and expanded width and length. These expansions created modest spatial improvements within the redesigned passenger cabin, which resulted in more headroom for front seats and more legroom in the rear.

For 2003, Accent presents edgy 2003 new exterior styling with new front grille and headlamps, restyled front fenders and rear quarter panels.

Versions include a base three-door hatchback, GS three-door hatch and the GL four-door sedan.

All three now employ Hyundai's 1.6-liter dual-cam four-cylinder engine. It achieves 105 hp plus fuel economy numbers as high as 36 mpg.
