Baby Boomers Hit the Road

More than 78 million people in the United States fall into the generation "Baby Boomers," the large group of people born from 1946 to 1964. They represent the largest segment of the population, but there has never been a travel portal specifically dedicated to helping baby boomers find travel deals. Enter BabyBoomerTrips.com, the first all-in-one travel portal for this specific category of traveler.

"BabyBoomerTrips.com is a one of a kind site," stated Rosana Chermisqui, co-founder of BabyBoomerTrips.com. "There is no other site providing comprehensive travel deals and information tailored to the needs of the Baby Boomers. We also wanted to create a comfortable community where other Baby Boomers could meet and discuss issues important to them."

Chermisqui and co-founder Dean Packingham created BabyBoomerTrips.com because they felt the needs of the baby boomers may not be met by conventional travel sites. They ended up with the only one-stop, baby boomer hub in existence, thanks to partnerships with a broad range of travel-industry leaders. Visitors to the site can compare rates on flights, hotels, car rentals, vacation packages and more, as well as book exclusive vacation packages from top tour operators that understand the needs of the baby boomers. Visitors can also find a wide array of resources in their resource guide, a search engine style directory listing websites useful to baby boomers. One of the most popular features on the site will likely be the message board, where visitors can interact with other baby boomers on a variety of subjects.

"Baby Boomers' travel habits are quite different from those of their parents," Packingham said. "They are much more likely to research and book travel online, and we wanted to give them a place to call home. This generation is sophisticated, and the boomers tend to seek out vacations that are extremely memorable, including active travel, educational travel, and travel to exotic destinations."
