Women Travel Safety: Report on Females and Safe Travel

A New Study Reports on Safe Female Travel

A recent survey on women’s travel found that an overwhelming 84 percent of females are generally more concerned about safety and security than men when traveling, according to American Express.

Not only did the survey of travel agents shed light on the current “girls-getaways” travel trend, it assisted in better understanding women travelers and their needs. For instance, 78 percent of travel agents said that women tend to be more careful than men with money when planning a vacation.

In fact, 65 percent of travel agents actively advise female clients to carry a diversified wallet that includes travelers cheques, credit and charge cards, and local currency.

According to the survey, 75 percent of travel agents agreed that more women are traveling alone and 59 percent stated that women are extending business trips to include leisure activities.
