Variations
for Ford's worldly small car include a four-door sedan, five-door station wagon
and hatchbacks in three-door and five-door formats.
For
action, Focus gets two editions of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ford engine. The
economy mode with single-cam design for sedan and wagon makes 110 hp, while the
sporty mode has dual cams for more spark to 130 hp.
It's
standard on Z-cars like the ZTS sedan, ZX3 three-door and ZX5 five-door hatchbacks,
or five-door ZTW wagon.
A
performance version -- SVT Focus -- appears as a three-door hatch off the ZX3
and a new five-door model based on the ZX5.
Power
for SVT models stems from a souped-up engine zipped to 170 hp through a six-speed
gearbox by Getrag.
