Tracking Calories During Travel

CalorieKing Offers Travelers Mobile Calorie Tracking System

Keeping your diet on track while traveling can be difficult, even for the most honest of dieters. Tracking calories and eating healthy on the road is hard with larger than life restaurant portions and on-the-go fast food options.

However, CalorieKing.com — the leading provider of food awareness tools for weight management — recently launched its newest tool to help travelers stay healthy while on the road.

The free, Internet-enabled mobile phone or smartphone search tool from the CalorieKing Mobile Web Site gives travelers access to the website's 50,000 item food database for details including calories, carbohydrates, fat, protein and more. The new search is specially optimized for mobile phones with small displays supporting keyboard shortcuts and providing faster loading times.

Members of CalorieKing Club, CalorieKing's subscription-based online weight management community, can now access their member account to answer schedule-sensitive questions like: Should I have dinner at home tonight? Have I earned a treat or should I extend my evening walk today?

In addition, members can now directly log food consumed using their mobile phone — an option that may help prevent "calorie amnesia" and lead to improved weight control.

"The features of the new Mobile application provide reliable calorie-balance information at the time and place where a person can use it to make a better choice," said Keith McGuinness, CEO of CalorieKing. "With so many commercial messages enticing Americans to eat more, it is important that those who seek to control their weight, or to manage their diabetes, encounter truth about food and physical activity when and where it is most useful."

CalorieKing, already highly-regarded for its calorie-focused approach to weight control, will continue to develop tools that help improve management of diseases that are favorably affected by successful weight management.
