Equinox Spa - Bringing Relaxation to Northeastern US

In an age crying out for relaxation and renewal, residents of the northeastern United States, and visitors from afar, will soon have the opportunity for rest and rejuvenation in one of the nation's newest and best-appointed spas.

Following a multi-million dollar addition now underway, the Equinox Resort, a RockResort, will unveil Avanyu, its new 13,000 sq. ft. full service resort spa in January of 2003. Avanyu at The Equinox will be an intimate spa experience reflecting the transcendent beauty and nature of Vermont's pristine environment in both its treatments and the new spa's interior. The new Avanyu Spa captures the natural energy and healing atmosphere permeating the surrounding mountains, trees and water flowing freely from the famed Equinox Springs.

This 13,000-square-foot facility at the Equinox will feature:

·
A 75 x 25-foot heated indoor pool and lounging patio punctuated by custom sculpture from local artisan, Jane B. Armstrong.

· A comprehensive menu of massage, facial, body treatments, signature therapies and experiences including a Maple Sugar Scrub, Green Mountain Algae exfoliation, wrap and massage and the Spirit of Vermont combination of reiki, reflexology and massage.

· Luxuriously appointed Men's and Women's spas, each with sauna, steam room and locker area and a relaxation waiting lounge with cozy fireplace, herbal teas, lemon and cucumber water and fresh fruit.

·
An innovative Image Center featuring manicures and pedicures

· A full-service retail area featuring Phytomer, B. Kamins, Dr. Hauschka and Dibi products.

· Fitness center with complete line of cardiovascular and strength training equipment as well as a yoga and Pilates movement studio.

· An ultra-professional, dedicated staff of professional fitness and spa therapists and personal trainers.

· Four season outdoor adventure fitness program offering a seasonal variety of activities led by skilled guides including the golfing, off-road driving lessons, Falconry, Fly-fishing, ice skating, snow mobiling, cross-country skiing, and more.

· Specially prepared spa cuisine created by Executive Chef Mary Nearn formerly of the Five Diamond Boulders Resorts in Scottsdale and served in the Resorts' dining rooms.

MORE INFORMATION
Situated on 2,300 acres between the Green and Taconic Mountains, The Equinox, with 183 rooms and suites, dates back more than 200 years. Comprised on the historic Equinox Hotel, the 1769 Marsh Tavern and the intimately luxurious Charles Orvis Inn, the resort offers championship 18-hole golf, year-round outdoor activities and ideal proximity to the cultural happenings of Vermont. The three restaurants offer variety ranging from romantic intimacy to a historic tavern to golf club informality.

Among The Equinox's more unusual activities are courses in falconry and the unique Land Rover 4x4 Driving School. In addition to golf, there are three tennis courts, two swimming pools and hiking, biking and climbing in summer; cross country skiing and other sports in winter on the 900 acres of The Equinox Preservation Trust. www.equinoxresort.com
